What Could May 7th Hold For Apple Fans?

25 Apr 2024

Excitement is mounting as Apple prepares for its eagerly awaited event scheduled for May 7th, 2024, sending ripples of anticipation throughout the tech community. With a flurry of rumours and leaks circulating online, here is a glimpse of what could come from the tech powerhouse.

What do we know so far?

Apple is keeping this one under wraps because what we know so far isn’t very much, except that art and creativity will be at the heart of the announcement. The invites that were sent out only say "Let Loose" and feature a colourful drawing of the Apple logo and the Apple Pencil, hinting that iPads are going to be in the spotlight.
According to @ab_90 on Reddit, “I see a hand holding an Apple Pencil. So yup, it’s an iPad event.” That is our thought exactly!
You can watch the action live on Apple.com, Apple TV, or YouTube, as always, via a livestream link the company is set to broadcast on May 7th.

What is the internet saying?

It is about time the iPads got some attention. Strangely enough, they got totally overlooked in 2023, with not a single update in sight. Word on the street is we are in for a new batch of iPads, including a shiny new iPad mini and an updated iPad Air.
It looks like fans are eagerly waiting for the news, as @mikolv2 on Reddit said, “Come on iPad Mini with a better screen and 120hz refresh rate.”
Some speculate that Apple will introduce an 11-inch and maybe even a 13-inch iPad Pro. If that 13-inch one does drop, it will be the biggest iPad yet in terms of display size, topping even the 12.9-inch model.
According to Tech Radar online, here is what to expect from the new iPad announcement:
— OLED display: They are swapping out the current mini-LED display for a slick new OLED panel, promising sharper images. This move should amp up the brightness and deliver an even better viewing experience for iPad fans everywhere.
— Battery Life Enhancement: OLED screens are known for being power-efficient, so you might see a boost in battery life too with the addition of this new screen.
— M3 chip: Rumours are that the powerhouse driving the next-generation device will be the M3 Chip. With lightning-fast performance and seamless multitasking, Apple promises that you will be editing photos, creating music, or gaming on the go with ease.
— Thinner Chassis and Slimmer Bezels: Apple loves to make their new products thinner and thinner. With a sleeker chassis and slimmer bezels, this new launch could be the thinnest product to ever leave the Apple store.
Fans all over the world are not just speculating; some are even pitching ideas for products. @Abreakinglight on Reddit had this to say: “They should make an Apple Pencil that is somehow one of those cool multi-colour pens where you push the tabs down for a new colour.”
Come on, Apple!
