Excuses For Every Occasion? There Is an AI For That

12 Jun 2024

We hear about AI every day, and while we might have resisted it at first, it seems we have now accepted that it is a part of our lives and recognised how helpful it can be. We have gathered AIs that assist musicians here, and ones that support artists here. Also, recently, Apple introduced its own AI — Apple Intelligence (predictable name, right?) — which can sort notifications by importance, generate images and emojis, rewrite texts, and much more.
Now, we have found an AI, not entirely new as it launched a year ago, that comes up with... excuses. It is called ChatEQ.
Here is how it works: you describe the situation you are in, where you need to respond but can't find the right words. Then you press the "Get Coaching" button, and voila! You get several options on how to respond. Different tones, different ways to express your thoughts — just pick and use.
For example: when you simply don't want to go to work but don't know what to tell your boss.

Or this: when you have missed all the deadlines and need to apologise.

It is a pity this AI didn't exist when we were in school — it would have made life so much easier.
As the founders wrote on the website, ChatEQ was created to help people develop conflict resolution skills to handle conflict in their personal and professional lives. Many people avoid difficult conversations because they are afraid of getting hurt, being rejected, or feeling uncomfortable. ChatEQ supports them by providing the conflict resolution skills needed to resolve challenging issues before they escalate.
