L’Étape in Dubai
Thanks to the Dubai Sports Council and Škoda, a long-time partner of Le Tour, this world initiative is coming to Dubai.
Why is Škoda a long-time partner? Well, in fact, Škoda's journey from bicycles to cars began in 1895 when Václav Laurin and Václav Klement founded a bicycle company named Laurin & Klement (L&K). Their first bicycle, the Slavia, was an immediate success. They soon expanded into motorcycles and, by 1905, developed their first automobile, the Voiturette A. This marked the start of their transition into the automotive industry, laying the foundation for what would eventually become the globally recognised Škoda brand. Considering the background story, Le Tour has always been an important event for the Czech brand.
